Crispy Air Fryer Apple Chips (Printable)

Thin apple slices air-fried to golden perfection with warm cinnamon for a naturally sweet, crunchy snack.

# Ingredient List:

→ Fruit

01 - 2 medium apples, any variety such as Fuji, Gala, or Honeycrisp

→ Seasonings

02 - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
03 - 1 teaspoon coconut sugar or maple sugar (optional for added sweetness)

→ Cooking Essentials

04 - Nonstick cooking spray or neutral oil for light brushing (optional)

# How to Make:

01 - Wash apples thoroughly and remove cores. Using a mandoline slicer or sharp knife, cut apples crosswise into thin rounds approximately 1/8 inch thick.
02 - Pat apple slices dry with paper towels to eliminate surface moisture, ensuring better crisping results.
03 - Place apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overlapping. Cook in batches if necessary to maintain proper air circulation.
04 - Lightly spray or brush slices with oil if desired for enhanced texture.
05 - Sprinkle ground cinnamon evenly over all apple slices. Add optional sugar at this stage if using.
06 - Cook at 325°F for 12-15 minutes, flipping all slices after 7 minutes. Monitor closely during the final minutes to prevent over-browning.
07 - Transfer golden chips to a wire rack and allow to cool completely. Texture will continue to crisp during cooling.
08 - Keep completely cooled chips in an airtight container for up to 5 days.

# Helpful Tips:

01 -
  • They satisfy that craving for something crunchy and sweet without any processed ingredients or weird additives you cannot pronounce
  • The whole house smells like baking heaven while they cook and honestly that aroma therapy is half the reason I make them so often
02 -
  • Apple varieties behave differently so tart apples might need that optional sugar while sweeter ones can stand alone with just cinnamon
  • The difference between perfectly crispy and burnt is about 60 seconds so stay close to your air fryer during those last few minutes
03 -
  • If you do not have a mandoline, use the widest setting on a box grater or your sharpest knife and take your time
  • The thinner you slice the apples the faster they cook so adjust your time down accordingly
