# How to Make:

01 - Mix cream cheese with dill, salt, and pepper until smooth. Mash hard-boiled eggs and combine with mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, chives, salt, and pepper. Blend softened butter with parsley and lemon juice, then season with black pepper.
02 - Lay out all bread slices on a flat surface. Press a large heart-shaped cookie cutter firmly into each slice to cut out as many heart shapes as possible from the bread.
03 - Spread the cream cheese-dill mixture onto half of the white bread hearts. Layer thinly sliced cucumber on top, then cover with another white bread heart to complete the sandwich.
04 - Spread the egg salad mixture onto half of the whole wheat bread hearts. Place another whole wheat heart on top to create the sandwich.
05 - Spread the herbed butter mixture onto half of the remaining white or rye bread hearts. Top with thinly sliced smoked salmon, then sandwich with another bread heart.
06 - Place all completed sandwiches on a large serving board, alternating the different varieties to create visual appeal and color contrast.
07 - Scatter fresh radish slices, microgreens, edible flowers, and lemon wedges around the sandwiches to enhance the presentation.
08 - Serve immediately for optimal freshness, or cover loosely with plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 2 hours before serving.

# Helpful Tips:

01 -
  • The combination of three classic fillings means every guest finds something they love
  • These little hearts look impressive but come together in under an hour
  • You can prepare everything ahead and assemble just before serving
02 -
  • The bread softens quickly, so assemble within two hours of serving or cover tightly with plastic wrap
  • A metal cookie cutter cuts cleaner hearts than plastic ones, especially through multiple bread layers
  • Room temperature fillings prevent the bread from tearing during assembly
03 -
  • Stack your bread slices in pairs before cutting to ensure you get even numbers of hearts
  • Chill the smoked salmon for 30 minutes before slicing for thinner, more delicate pieces
