# Ingredient List:

→ Lavender Syrup

01 - 1 cup water
02 - 1 cup granulated sugar
03 - 2 tablespoons dried culinary lavender

→ Lemonade Base

04 - 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons)
05 - 4 cups cold water
06 - Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)
07 - Lavender sprigs, for garnish (optional)
08 - Ice cubes

# How to Make:

01 - In a small saucepan, combine water and sugar. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat, stir in dried lavender, and let steep for 15 minutes.
02 - Strain the lavender from the syrup using a fine-mesh sieve. Allow the syrup to cool.
03 - In a large pitcher, combine lemon juice, lavender syrup, and cold water. Stir well.
04 - Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness with additional water, syrup, or lemon juice, as desired.
05 - Add ice cubes to the pitcher. Serve over ice, garnished with lemon slices and lavender sprigs if desired.

# Helpful Tips:

01 -
  • It transforms an ordinary summer drink into something that feels like a café speciality without any fancy techniques
  • The floral notes somehow make the lemon taste brighter and more vibrant
  • Guests always ask for the recipe, assuming it must be complicated
02 -
  • Oversteeping the lavender beyond 15 minutes makes the drink taste bitter and medicinal instead of floral and sweet
  • The syrup needs to be completely cold before mixing or it will melt your ice and dilute everything
  • This drink actually improves after an hour in the refrigerator as the flavors have time to become friends
03 -
  • Lightly crush the dried lavender between your fingers before adding it to the syrup to release more essential oils
  • If the floral flavor seems too strong initially, let the syrup sit overnight in the refrigerator as it mellow considerably
