Spicy Snack Nuts Mix (Printable)

Crunchy roasted nuts tossed in smoky, spicy seasonings for a bold and flavorful snack.

# Ingredient List:

→ Nuts

01 - 1 cup raw almonds
02 - 1 cup raw cashews
03 - 1 cup raw pecans
04 - 1 cup raw peanuts

→ Coating

05 - 2 tablespoons olive oil
06 - 1 tablespoon maple syrup
07 - 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
08 - 1 teaspoon chili powder
09 - 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
10 - 1 teaspoon ground cumin
11 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
12 - 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
13 - 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

# How to Make:

01 - Preheat the oven to 340°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - In a large mixing bowl, combine the olive oil and maple syrup. Add smoked paprika, chili powder, cayenne pepper, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until well blended.
03 - Add all nuts to the bowl and toss until evenly coated with the spice mixture.
04 - Spread the nuts in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
05 - Bake for 15–20 minutes, stirring halfway through, until golden and fragrant.
06 - Remove from oven and let cool completely. The nuts will crisp up as they cool. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.

# Helpful Tips:

01 -
  • These nuts disappear faster than you can make them, and I have learned to always double the batch if I actually want any for myself
  • The spice blend hits that perfect sweet and smoky balance that keeps everyone reaching for just one more handful
02 -
  • The nuts will still feel slightly soft when you first pull them from the oven, and that is completely normal. They crisp up beautifully as they cool, so do not make my mistake of putting them back in thinking they are underdone.
  • I learned to set a timer for exactly halfway through and stir thoroughly, otherwise the bottom nuts can get too dark while the top ones stay underseasoned.
03 -
  • Always store cooled nuts in an airtight container, because exposure to air makes them lose their crunch surprisingly fast. Glass jars work beautifully and look gorgeous on your counter.
  • If you are making these for a party, you can absolutely prep them up to two days ahead and they will taste just as fresh.
