# Ingredient List:

→ Crispy Rice Brain Base

01 - 6 cups crispy rice cereal
02 - 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
03 - 10 oz bag mini marshmallows
04 - Red or pink food coloring

→ Spooky Berry Filling

05 - ½ cup raspberry or strawberry jam
06 - 2 tablespoons seedless raspberry or strawberry coulis

→ Decoration

07 - Additional food coloring for detailing
08 - Candy eyes or sprinkles

# How to Make:

01 - Prepare a brain-shaped mold or line a medium bowl with plastic wrap to create the brain form structure.
02 - In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add mini marshmallows and stir continuously until completely melted and smooth.
03 - Tint the marshmallow mixture with red or pink food coloring, drop by drop, until a realistic brain-like pinkish hue is achieved.
04 - Remove from heat. Fold in the crispy rice cereal, mixing until evenly coated with the colored marshmallow. Cool until safe to handle.
05 - Using buttered hands, press half the cereal mixture into the prepared mold, pressing up along the sides to create a hollow cavity in the center.
06 - Spoon the jam and coulis into the central cavity, keeping the filling centered and away from the edges.
07 - Gently cover with the remaining cereal mixture, sealing the filling completely inside. Press and shape to enhance the brain's anatomical appearance.
08 - Let the brain set at room temperature for 20–30 minutes until firm and holding its shape.
09 - Carefully unmold onto a serving plate. Use food coloring and a small brush to paint detailed brain cell ridges. Add candy eyes or sprinkles for extra Halloween effect.
10 - Slice the brain and watch the berry filling ooze out dramatically for the spooky presentation.

# Helpful Tips:

01 -
  • The creepy reveal when you cut it open never gets old
  • Its actually just a really delicious crispy rice treat in disguise
02 -
  • Butter your hands thoroughly before shaping or the mixture will stick painfully
  • The jam mixture can leak if your cereal walls are too thin, so be generous with the base layer
03 -
  • A splash of vanilla extract in the marshmallow mixture adds a subtle depth that makes it taste like a really premium treat
  • Work quickly once the marshmallow mixture is ready because it becomes impossible to shape as it cools
