# Helpful Tips:

01 -
  • It transforms humble wild rice into something luxurious and surprisingly comforting
  • The spices make your entire kitchen smell like a cozy bakery on a cold morning
02 -
  • Wild rice takes longer to cook than regular rice, so dont rush that initial simmer step or you will end up with chewy, unpleasant grains
  • Stirring frequently during the milk phase is nonnegotiable unless you want a burnt milk situation on your hands
03 -
  • Make a double batch and keep it in the refrigerator, it reheats beautifully with a splash of milk
  • Let the porridge sit for a few minutes off the heat before serving, it thickens up nicely
